Hello, May! Another month to reckon with...another month to bum and wander...another month to just hang on and wait for miracles to happen...REALLY?
Whew!
Things are getting out of hand. I'm becoming an emotional, unemployed and loveless graduate. I'm having a difficult time pulling myself together. It isn't easy to just wander in a place you weren't raised from. These daily traffics, honking jeepneys and buses, the thought of being robbed or killed or passed over by a truck are too much for me to take. Come on, I just wanted to find a decent job, earn a living for my family and start a career. Heck. Of course, these are all not an easy trek.
So far, I was interviewed by three companies. The first company was Convergys, I wasn't hired. Hahaha! I think I messed up the interview. It was conducted in a very cold room and well, I was already chilling. There were 10 persons inside, including the interviewer. Everything went smoothly at first, but when he asked me, "How eager are you ?" my chance to get a slot went down. The second company was Intercontinental Hotel Group, located in Ayala Ave. (just imagine my jitters and excitement as I enter their intimidating building) When my turn to be interviewed came, I told myself to show more than enthusiasm and try to impress the interviewer. I succeeded and it was a very comfortable interview, just like two friends catching up with each other. It went very well until I learned that the nature of the job is like being a call center agent. No need for me to pursue this, so I made an excuse about having health trouble regarding staying up late for graveyard shifts. I don't want to offend anybody, but I know it isn't the job for me.And so I let it go. The last one was at ADSENSE, it is a local and budding advertising agency owned by a lovely lady. My cousin helped me out to give her my resume and schedule an interview with them. It was casual but serious. The interviewer was very frank but friendly. They let me took shots of their products during an exhibit in SM Megamall. It wasn't hard. I knew I can handle it and deliver very well. I took an ample amount of pictures using their Nikon camera and then stormed back to the office. Just then, they let me wrote a short article about a hotel in Pangasinan. I was a bit tired from shooting, the sun's up and its heat was scorching. I thought I wouldn't be able to make a good article. At 4PM, I let the interviewer checked my work and then we talked again. He said that they are going to give me the writer position. The interviewer told me that they pay a competitive salary for starters like me and that if I perform excellently they would be very generous to give me an increase. At that time, I was already overwhelmed by their response. It was the first time I was accepted in a job that is in line with my field. I was overflowing with happiness and excitement. The interviewer asked me to think about it first and then reach them if I'm already decided.
As I made my way down the building, tears were in my eyes. There was something magical about being accepted. It felt so surreal.

Right now, I can't still make up my mind whether to accept the offer or not. The morning after the interview, our cool boss from ABS-CBN sent me an SMS saying that he'd follow up our application. It gave me hope and another option, thus my dilemma.
What if I accepted the job and then ABS (or other big companies) called me up? What if ABS would take many months to respond and then I already let the opportunity with ADSENSE passed?

Making dreams come true is never easy.
